About Bobi

Meet Bobi, a purebred male Yellow Lab who will turn 6 years old in December. He has been with his family since he was just 8 weeks old, but due to a medical issue in the household, they are looking to rehome him to someone who can give him the attention and love he deserves. Bobi is fantastic with children, having grown up with a 3-year-old and an 11-month-old. He allows them to climb on him without a worry, and his family has never had any concerns regarding his behavior around kids. Bobi also interacts well with middle and high school-aged children during family gatherings. This affectionate boy weighs about 83 pounds. He's currently on a bit of a weight loss journey and enjoys long walks and games of fetch. Bobi has some anxiety, particularly around new people, and will bark initially when strangers arrive at the home. However, he warms up quickly with some treats! He takes daily medication to help manage his anxiety, which has made a significant difference for him. While Bobi hasn't had formal obedience training, he is described by his family as obedient and responds well to commands, especially when treats are involved. He walks well on a leash, though he might pull slightly. At home, Bobi is housebroken and allows his family to hug and touch him freely. While he is generally friendly with other dogs, he has recently met a dog that was not interested in playing, and Bobi chose to let it be. He does have an interest in the cats he sees around the neighborhood, so caution is advised there. Bobi’s perfect new home would be in a quieter area, with ample outdoor space to run and play. He’s playful and affectionate, though he may need a little time to warm up to new faces. Once he does, his vibrant and loving personality shines through.
