About Momma Ruthie

Meet Momma Ruthie, a sweet soul with a heart as big as her paws. This beautiful flat-coated retriever mix has devoted her life to nurturing others. Not only did she care for her own puppies, but she also stepped up for orphaned pups when another mother tragically lost her life. Now that all her pups have found homes, it's time for Ruthie to be spoiled herself. At around 2 years old, Ruthie is a gentle and timid girl who’s learning to trust people. With the love and patience of her foster family, she’s starting to blossom and discover the joys of a more secure life. Currently, she's working towards a healthy weight of about 50 pounds after coming to us underweight at 40 pounds. Ruthie is heartworm positive, but she's already begun treatment, and Take Paws Rescue will cover the costs for her care. Adjusting to indoor living, Ruthie finds comfort in her crate and is making good progress with house-training. She loves having her own soft dog bed, and it’s heartwarming to see her explore these new luxuries. Friendly with other dogs and possessing a wonderfully gentle demeanor, Ruthie doesn’t require much—just a little time, reassurance, and love to show her what it means to be someone's cherished family dog. Her days of being a mama are behind her; now, she deserves to be someone's baby. If you have a spot in your heart for this loving girl, Momma Ruthie would love to meet you!
