About Travis

Meet Travis, a black and white Border Collie-Labrador mix. He arrived at the shelter as a stray, so his history is a bit of a mystery. Estimated to be around 8 months old, Travis has been gaining confidence since his arrival. Initially hesitant with new people and situations, he has started to blossom with interaction. His youthful energy means he's still mastering essential life skills and leash manners, and he can be a bit overwhelming in his enthusiasm, often jumping up or pawing for attention. Because of his exuberance, homes with young children might not be the best fit. Travis would thrive with a patient adopter who can help him build confidence in different environments. He might be compatible with other dogs but would need careful, gradual introductions. All resident dogs should meet at the shelter before adoption. While heโ€™s still awaiting neuter surgery, Travis is ready for pre-adoption. Visit him at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter and see if you fall in love with this sweet pup. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
