About Parker

Meet Parker! This almost seven-year-old Chihuahua mix, full of spunk, is currently enjoying life in Amherst, MA. Parker's playful spirit shines through his adorable white coat with beige patches, making him a delightful companion. Weighing around 20 pounds, he might be small, but his personality is anything but shy. Parker is incredibly intelligent and expressive, knowing commands like sit, stay, and come, and he even has a talent for opening doors! He loves chasing balls and playing with plush toys, but above all, he treasures time spent with his humans. Parker forms strong bonds with those he trusts and thrives in predictable routines with gentle guidance. Given that he experiences separation anxiety, Parker seeks a family that is home frequently to provide the companionship he desperately needs. When it comes to new people, he tends to feel nervous, especially with unannounced visitors. It’s crucial to give him time and space for structured introductions, helping him feel secure. While he can make friends with other dogs after gradual introductions, he would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home. His ideal environment is a quieter suburban or rural area, complete with a yard for peaceful exploration and walks. Parker requires at least two daily walks along with gentle playtime. Due to his orthopedic conditions, such as arthritis and luxating patellas, he's best suited for low-impact activities. Neutered, house-trained, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations, Parker is ready for a loving and understanding family to help him navigate his next adventure. Could you be the one to provide him with the security and love he deserves? Start the journey together. Apply now!
