About Stanley
Stanley is a loyal and playful young dog who has overcome quite a bit in his short life. After facing a serious illness, he's shown remarkable resilience and continues to progress in his recovery from Valley Fever, needing daily medication. He might tire a bit faster than other young dogs, but he’s still eager for playtime and loves being close to his people. At home, Stanley is happiest curled up next to you on the couch or peacefully napping at your feet. He forms deep bonds and thrives in a calm setting that allows him to feel secure. Initially somewhat reserved, especially around men or unfamiliar situations, he warms up beautifully when given the chance. Once he's comfortable, he becomes a cuddly, affectionate companion. Stanley has proven to be sociable with other dogs, enjoying their playful company, although he can get a bit rough at times. He’s friendly with children, displaying a gentle demeanor during interactions, and has shown no food aggression. It's best not to place him in a home with cats due to a past incident. Mostly house-trained and crate-trained, Stanley can sleep freely at night or quietly in his kennel during the day. Being young, he might chew on inappropriate items if left alone, so supervision and structure are key to his success. He's learning basic commands like “sit” and eagerly awaits his meals. He enjoys squeaky toys and playful romps around the yard, and he travels well in the car, often calming down for the ride. Overall, Stanley is a sweet dog seeking a loving home that can help him build confidence as he continues to recover and grow. With love and patience, he will become a deeply devoted companion.
