About Rusty
Meet Rusty, a spirited 3-year-old hound mix looking for a calm and secure forever home. This handsome boy carries an infectious enthusiasm for life, along with a big heart. Rusty, who first came to us as a stray, is a sweet soul but was returned after a month due to some puppy-like behaviors that need dedicated attention. His jumpy and mouthy nature, combined with anxiety, can lead him to act out during excitement. He’s also an escape artist, needing a very secure yard to keep him safe. Rusty is sensitive and easily startled by loud noises. To ensure his well-being, his new family should provide a high, secure yard and closely monitor him during outdoor time. He tends to be dog-selective; therefore, meeting any resident dogs before adoption is crucial. Ideally, a home with no other pets will help reduce his stress. This wonderful dog just needs the right environment, patience, and consistency to truly thrive. If you're ready to give Rusty the tranquil sanctuary he seeks, come to the shelter today and ask to meet him! The adoption process also involves a visit to Pima Animal Care Center to ensure he’s a good fit for you. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
