About Piper

Piper came to the shelter with a broken leg that had to be amputated. She's doing well and adjusting to life as a tripod! She's also heartworm positive, but don't worry - OCAS covers her treatment. She has been a bit reactive to other dogs in kennels and its recommended that she has slow introductions to other animals. Piper is a resilient and loving girl who refuses to let life slow her down! After having a front leg removed, she has adapted beautifully and is looking for a couch to curl up on and a family to love. Because dogs carry most of their weight upfront, Piper's ideal forever home will have plenty of cozy rugs or non-slip carpets to help her navigate easily, along with humans dedicated to keeping her lean and fit to protect her joints. She is incredibly sweet, handles her transition with grace, and is ready to bring a lifetime of inspiration and devotion to a home that can give her just a little extra care and a lot of love. If you'd like to help Piper and other pets that enter the shelter with serious medical issues, please consider making a donation to the shelter. The Community Giving Fund is an easy way to donate online. Thank you!
