Tim hears “car ride” and is ready to hop aboard. His former family reported that he loves riding along, and this 6-year-old, 61-pound boy has several familiar skills to bring to a new home: “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “shake.” During a recent visit, he approached staff with soft tail wags, accepted pets, and showed plenty of enthusiasm for treats. Tim needs an adult-only home. He is experienced with dogs, having lived with small dogs whom he reportedly sniffed without much further interaction. His compatibility with cats remains unknown, although his former family reported that he tried to swat at them. He is reported to be housetrained and comfortable spending time alone. Continued help with leash manners and supervised outdoor time will be important, as he has pulled strongly and attempted to climb a fence during a shelter walk. His interest in food offers a useful starting point for practicing skills and building a routine together. All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter's care. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet.
