Meet Jenny, a 3-year-old, 21-pound Terrier and Pug mix who was found stray and never claimed. The noise and commotion of the shelter felt overwhelming, so she often stayed toward the back of her kennel. When staff and volunteers sat with her, Jenny would tremble—but still wanted to be close. Now she’s getting a chance to decompress in a temporary foster home, and she’s already showing her sweet, affectionate side. It’s still early, but Jenny enjoys snuggling close and giving little “thank-you” kisses and it starting to play with toys. She’s a much different girl outside the shelter.
