Location: Columbus, OH Meet Marvin! The sweetest puppy you’ll ever lay your eyes on! This is Marvin, or big Marv, or Marvy, whatever you’d like to call him! Marvin is a happy-go-lucky guy who loves enjoys a good body of water... I.e. the shower. He’s a great walking buddy, although he may occasionally ask you to stop and smell the leaves (or snack on them). He is great in public, and with other dogs. He’s a very quiet puppy, but doesn’t love being alone in his crate but has gotten much better. He would do best in a home with a lot of TLC, and someone who’s always around. Wherever he does go though, you’re in store for a lot of love! PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING: Marvin has been diagnosed with mild-to-moderate stenosis and a Grade III heart murmur. He has undergone evaluation by a cardiologist, including an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart), to assess the structure and function of his heart. At this time, his cardiologist has recommended no activity restrictions and no medication. There is also no surgical intervention available to correct the underlying condition. However, this is a lifelong condition that will require monitoring to watch for any changes or progression. Marvin's current follow-up plan includes: 1.) A repeat limited echocardiogram at approximately 8 months of age. 2.) Another echocardiogram at approximately 1 year of age. If his cardiac findings remain stable, his cardiologist anticipates that monitoring may then be reduced to once every 12–18 months. Marvin is currently doing well and does not require treatment, but his heart condition is an important part of his medical history and should be taken into consideration by anyone applying to adopt him. His future adopter must be prepared to maintain his recommended cardiology follow-ups and understand that his monitoring or care needs could change over time.
