Auggie is a male, senior mixed-breed dog, approximately 12 years and 7 months old. He is small-sized, white and cream in color, neutered, and has a gentle temperament. Auggie is vaccinated and currently being fostered in Ferndale, MI. Although he has some anxiety and may require a patient adopter, he is good with dogs and enjoys companionship.

About Auggie

Meet Auggie, a 12.5-year-old, 13-pound Yorkie mix in search of a loving home. Neutered and up to date on vaccinations, he’s heartworm negative, which gives peace of mind to any potential adopter. Auggie is a gentle soul still adjusting after losing his owner. He enjoys lounging on the couch and snuggling under blankets, often following his favorite person around the house. Although he's a bit shy and initially unsure about new people, he warms up with time. Once comfortable, he reveals the cuddly companion he truly is, complete with adorable little snores when he sleeps. This sweet dog has a history of living with multiple small dogs and coexists well with his foster’s resident pet, though he can be nervous at times. Due to possible deafness, he may need some extra understanding and patience. Auggie is working on leash training and making good progress with potty training, but he would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can run and enjoy the outdoors. Auggie has significant separation anxiety and requires a home where someone is around most of the time. Families should be prepared to help him feel secure and comfortable being alone. His ideal environment would be one where occasional barking won’t disturb neighbors. Additionally, Auggie needs a dental procedure, which will be arranged by the rescue. His future adopter will need to get him to his veterinary appointment in Plymouth when the date is set.
