About Zira
Zira came to Green Dogs Unleashed through Humane World for Animals after being rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea. Despite being just 10 months old, she has claimed her position in Charlottesville as the best porch supervisor around. Zira takes her job seriously, though occasionally you’ll find her snoozing on the job. Thanks to Humane World for Animals, Zira has a chance at a happier life away from her troubled past. She’s a delightful 25-pound Jindo who thrives on companionship. Initially shy, Zira will warm up when she senses you’re part of her circle. Once she trusts you, she’ll settle nearby to keep you company as you go about your day. The kids in her foster home describe her as “totally adorable,” and it’s hard to argue with them. Zira happily interacts with her foster siblings—a 50-pound Lab mix and a 15-pound Cocker Spaniel mix—relying on them for guidance. A friendly dog in her new home would help her adapt even faster. In addition to her supervisory duties, she enjoys relaxing and observing the world from the window. House training? She’s got that down perfectly. Zira even selected her own bathroom spot in the yard—talk about organized! She’s fond of treats and is making great strides in crate training, becoming braver as she explores her new surroundings. If you’re someone who enjoys building a bond with a gentle, albeit slightly reserved, dog like Zira, you’re just the person we hope to meet. Apply today to see if you can provide her with the loving home she deserves.
