Meet Mia Sweet Mia came to Good Omen after being rescued from a hoarding situation, where she had clearly gone far too long without the care she deserved. When she arrived, her coat was severely matted, she had significant hair loss, a large mass on her chest, and badly needed dental care. Despite everything she has been through, Mia is an incredibly sweet little girl who is settling beautifully into the safety and comfort of her foster home. Her foster mom gave her a much-needed bath and haircut, and she is finally learning what it feels like to be clean, comfortable, safe, and loved. Based on Mia’s appearance and initial medical findings, Cushing’s disease was originally suspected, but thankfully testing has ruled that out. She does still need additional diagnostics, to assess her mass as well as further testing for a possible thyroid issue. She also has significant dental disease and will need a dental once her medical workup is complete. For now, we’re taking things one step at a time and giving Mia all the care she should have had from the beginning. Her past may be a mystery, but her future is already looking much brighter.
