Diamond A188823 41 lb. spayed female, approx 5 years old -This girl is a sweet mix of timid and affectionate. She may be a little unsure of herself at first, but she really does seek out comfort and connection. After taking care of business outside, she surprised me by launching herself right into my lap! She seems to be discovering just how nice pets and affection can be, and once she gets comfortable, she enjoys soaking it all up. She even gave me a few kisses! -She had a few bursts of happy, excited zoomies, but was able to settle back down and enjoy some quiet time with pets and belly rubs. She's still learning how to navigate all those new feelings and experiences, but I think she'll blossom with some patience, encouragement, and continued socialization. -She enjoys treats, is working on her sit, and takes snacks very gently. Toys didn't catch her interest today. She does pull a bit on leash, so she'll benefit from some practice. -A sweet girl with lots of love to give who just needs a little help building confidence and discovering the good things about being someone's spoiled pup. -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids *Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt *Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. *Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. *There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. *To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** *The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30, except for Wednesday when we open at 11:30 **We ask that if you're looking to adopt, you arrive before 5:00 to be able to have enough time to meet the dog. **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
