AvailableAbout Bintz
Bintz A188704 43 lb. spayed female, approx 3 years old -This girl is a sensitive soul who will need a little time and patience to come out of her shell. She was nervous and unsure on leash, pulling and darting around as she tried to navigate everything. She was also hesitant to approach me in the yard, but a few tasty snacks helped her find the courage to come closer. -Once she started feeling more comfortable, her affectionate side really began to shine. In the photo room, she surprised me by army-crawling right over when I sat on the floor, then rolling over for belly rubs. She wanted to be as close as possible, pressing herself against me whenever I stopped petting her and even climbing right into my lap for more attention. She eventually became comfortable enough to offer a few kisses, too. -She knows how to sit and takes treats very nicely. Toys aren't really her thing at the moment, and some noises can make her a little nervous. She's also a bit head-shy, so she'll appreciate gentle handling and someone who lets her set the pace. -She may be unsure of the world right now, but underneath that nervous exterior is a very loving girl who desperately wants to feel safe and close to her person. Give her some time, patience, and reassurance, and I think you'll see that sweet, snuggly side come out more and more. -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids *Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt *Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. *Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. *There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. *To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** *The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30, except for Wednesday when we open at 11:30 **We ask that if you're looking to adopt, you arrive before 5:00 to be able to have enough time to meet the dog. **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
