Gabbie is an absolutely adorable, tiny little sweetheart who is still working up the courage to show the world just how wonderful she is. She's gentle, affectionate, incredibly quiet, and has an appetite that suggests she may be secretly training for a competitive eating championship. Gabbie arrived at the shelter needing some extra TLC, but she's already making a wonderful comeback! She's a little underweight, with a bony spine, dry skin, and some patchy fur that's mostly growing back. The edges of her ears are still rough from flea damage, but she's healing nicely. She's already ridiculously cute, and we suspect she's going to be quite the knockout once her makeover is complete! Fortunately, Gabbie has taken personal responsibility for the weight-gain portion of her recovery. She approaches every meal with tremendous enthusiasm and then thoroughly licks her plate clean, presumably checking for any microscopic crumbs that might have escaped. You might also notice that she's wearing a diaper in some of her pictures. Gabbie recently went into heat, so she's temporarily sporting some fashionable undergarments. She's also still working on becoming fully housebroken, although she hasn't used her diaper as a bathroom. So far, she's been a very respectable little lady in that department! When it comes to meeting new people, Gabbie can be quite timid at first. Her tail tucks so far between her legs that you'd think she was trying to smuggle it across an international border. But the wonderful thing about this little girl is that she really wants to make friends, even when she's feeling nervous. Less than 24 hours after arriving at her foster home, Gabbie found herself surrounded by a group of unfamiliar visitors. She was understandably hesitant at first, but before long, she was approaching people on her own, accepting affection, and even hopping up beside guests for extra attention. It turns out she's a budding social butterfly who just needs a little encouragement to spread her wings! She's incredibly sweet and hasn't made a single peep in her foster home. Her tail is sometimes still a little reluctant to participate in the festivities, but a bunch of genuine wags have already made an appearance. Gabbie would love a patient, affectionate family who can help her continue building confidence, finish learning her house manners (she's not far from being fully trained), and enjoy all the love she has to give. She's already got the adorable face, the wonderful personality, and the desire to make friends. All she needs now is a family to call her own.
