Anyone interested in a future large dog? River is a 6-8 month old female shepherd mix - the vet she saw thinks she has some Great Pyrenees in her! River is 45 pounds right now and might be around 70-80 pounds when she is full grown. River came to All Dog Rescue after being born on a northern MN reservation, then going to a shelter, and then transferred to rescue! She is hard at work on her housetraining, crate training, obedience, chewing appropriate things, listening to grumpy resident dogs, walking on a leash....all the usual puppy milestones! River is friendly once she gets in a good sniff of new people. She loves all dogs immediately, even grumpy resident dogs (we know, we said that already, but we can't overstate how much she LOVES other dogs). River is fostered in a home with a toddler and their interactions are closely monitored because River thinks small humans should love being pawed at (except they don't) and the toddler thinks that sharing food with a puppy is the same as sharing with the resident dogs who take things nicely. Note to anyone with kids: River is already large and has a lot of puppy energy. She will probably do best in a home with older kids. River will need a family who is committed to training her - she is smart and also is a thinker with a dash of stubbornness. A tired puppy is a good puppy and she loves food puzzles and appropriate chew toys. River is a very sweet girl who would love to grow up in her new family!
