About Chance

Chance is a handsome 7-year-old, 12-pound white Miniature Schnauzer with medium-length fur, natural ears, and a docked tail. After his previous owner passed away, Chance arrived at Schnauzer Rescue Texas seeking a fresh start and a loving home. This affectionate boy forms deep bonds with those he trusts, making him a loyal companion who will follow you around the house, settle by your side, or curl up nearby while you go about your day. Though he is quiet and gentle, Chance has a history that requires patience. He can be fearful around new people, especially men, and reacts defensively when he feels threatened or overwhelmed. His new adopter should be experienced and ready to take it slow as Chance learns that he is safe. He thrives with positive reinforcement and consistency. Chance isn’t looking for an active lifestyle; he's much happier lounging around. A securely fenced backyard is ideal for him to explore at his own pace before curling up for a nap inside. Because of his past, he would do best in a quiet, adult-only home, preferably as the only dog, although slow introductions to a calm dog could work. He is still working on his house training and adapting to life as a cherished family member. If you believe in giving shy dogs the time they need to blossom, Chance could become your incredibly loyal companion. He’s waiting for someone who understands that meaningful relationships take time. Could coincidentally this sweet soul be the one you’re looking for? What are you waiting for? Apply today!
