About Oreo
Meet Oreo, a resilient boy whose gentle soul is blossoming more each day. At seven years old, Oreo spent his early life in a dirt run at a small shelter in the South, where he arrived as a puppy with his late mother. After that shelter closed, our rescue partner stepped in to save him, and we couldn't say no when they reached out. Today, Oreo is thriving in a warm foster home, discovering for the first time what it means to be a cherished pet. Initially, Oreo sought comfort in an open wire crate covered with a blanket, adjusting quietly to his new surroundings. In just two days, this smart boy learned to go potty outside and is now solidly house trained. While he prefers quick outdoor trips, he has embraced indoor living and often trots to the bottom of the stairs each morning to greet his foster family with sweet excitement. He enjoys resting on a dog bed or sometimes sharing the human bed at night. Oreo is not a demanding dog; instead, he brings a peaceful, comforting presence. He loves to be nearby, following his foster parent, lounging by the window, or curling up under the desk while they work. He gets along wonderfully with both cats and other dogs, making him an excellent companion for a multi-pet household. Though still a bit timid when approached directly, his trust deepens daily. Oreo needs a patient adopter who understands that he may approach the world a bit differently than othersβheβs not broken, just special. With time and love, Oreo will become a loyal companion ready to celebrate every small victory by your side. Oreo is currently in a foster home.
