Found abandoned at a large nature preserve, he was left to fend for himself. When Poe was rescued, his spirit shone through even as we discovered he had been shot with a pellet gun prior to his arrival. Thankfully, he has healed beautifully and has not lost his ability to trust and love. Poe is everything you'd want in a companion—gentle, affectionate, and wonderfully friendly. He craves attention and has a sweet disposition. He gets along well with other cats and would thrive with gentle, respectful children. Poe is FIV-positive, but don’t let that deter you! Many FIV-positive cats lead long, fulfilling lives. The virus is primarily transmitted through deep bites during fights, not everyday interactions like cuddling or living peacefully in a home.
