About Barney

Barney came to Pet Friends several years ago after being rescued from animal control in Greensburg. While he might not catch your eye at first glance—with his average looks and age of around six—this dog is anything but ordinary. A unique mix of German Shepherd, Border Collie, and Pitbull, Barney is all about adventure. He’s up for anything you throw his way, from a game of fetch to a leisurely walk in the park or even a trip to a local winery. With a background in advanced obedience training, Barney generally behaves well and walks nicely on a leash. However, he can get a bit distracted by enticing smells and is known to jump when greeting people or during playtime, so a home with small children may not be the best fit for him. He doesn't get along with cats, but he does enjoy the company of other dogs, needing a meet-and-greet before living together.
