Barnaby is a calm, cozy cat who truly embodies the quiet charm of a gentle soul. At 7 years old, this neutered male Domestic Short Hair weighs 11 lbs and has had quite the journey. He thrives in a peaceful environment and would prefer a home without dogs, or perhaps one with a gentle dog that respects his space. Although not officially tested, he’s likely to do well with older, quieter kids who won’t startle him with loud noises or sudden movements. His energy level is low. Barnaby finds joy in snuggling up in cozy spots, whether that’s inside a bathroom cabinet or on a soft blanket. He loves looking out the window, but mostly he takes life at his own leisurely pace. Barnaby does have a special need; he is FIV+, which means his immune system is more vulnerable than that of a typical cat. The good news is that he's currently healthy and asymptomatic, especially after receiving dental care. It’s important for his future adopter to understand FIV and to provide him with a nurturing home. Despite his past, Barnaby is ready to love unconditionally. He needs a compassionate adopter who believes in him and will give him the time to blossom into a cuddly companion.
