About Doris
Doris is a young female Shepherd mix, roughly 50 pounds, with a striking red and chestnut coat. Rescued from a hoarding situation in Kentucky, she has endured a tough past but is now ready for a loving home. After her rescue, Doris was fostered in a caring environment where she began to thrive. She is house trained, crate trained, and does well in the car. Doris absolutely shines around other animals. She gets along amazingly with dogs of all sizes—from 20 pounds to 80 pounds—and is gentle and respectful of their boundaries. Her calm demeanor also extends to cats; she can comfortably share space even with feral cats, happily eating alongside them. Playful and full of energy, Doris needs an active home that can provide her with plenty of exercise and stimulation. She loves the company of other dogs and would do well with a doggy companion or at a daycare setting. Plus, her great recall makes her a good candidate for homes with an electric fence. After facing hardship, Doris deserves a family that can show her the kindness and joy she has always longed for. Click apply to start the adoption process.
