About Pete

Meet Pete! He’s currently in foster care and learning the ropes of being a dog. Now that he's settled in, he's sweet and affectionate, often curling up next to you at night. Pete enjoys the company of other dogs, but be aware that he needs time to adjust to new friends. Once familiar, he plays well with them and is picking up potty training with help from his foster siblings, turning outdoor potty time into a fun adventure filled with exploration and treats. Though Pete can resource guard his favorite toys and blankets, he doesn’t have issues with food sharing, making him a likely fit for households with other dogs. However, due to his shyness, he may not do well with small children who could inadvertently provoke him. When he first arrived, Pete was scared and occasionally reactive, taking two weeks to decompress. A calm, patient adopter who can provide time for adjustment will help him blossom. Multiple meet-and-greets will be essential for his comfort with a new family. With your support, his loving, snuggly personality will shine through.
