About Arlo

Meet Arlo! This spirited, two-year-old Carolina Dog mix is located in Amherst, MA. With his golden tan coat and affectionate demeanor, this 60-pound sweetheart is guaranteed to capture your heart. Arlo is a joyful, playful boy who embraces life enthusiastically. Whether he’s greeting new friends, soaking up attention, or chasing after his beloved toys, his delightful personality shines brightly. He genuinely enjoys walks, car rides, and playtime, always ready to bring a smile to someone's face. While he hasn’t had formal obedience training yet, Arlo already knows "sit" and is eager to learn more commands through positive reinforcement. Currently, he is recovering from a car accident that caused ligament injuries in a rear leg. Luckily, there are no fractures, and the vets are optimistic about his healing with the help of a cast. However, amputation could be a possibility if progress stalls. His future family should be prepared for ongoing veterinary care and an uncertain prognosis. Aside from this, Arlo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. His affectionate nature is truly a treasure. He loves people, welcomes friendly attention, and has never shown aggression. He would thrive in an active, patient household that can support his recovery and gradually introduce him to the adventures he enjoys. Given his limited exposure to younger children, a home with older kids or no children would fit him best. Arlo has developed anxiety around unfamiliar large dogs due to past incidents, so thoughtful introductions to other pets will be necessary. His ability to get along with cats is also unknown, so a cat-free home is recommended until he is properly assessed. Arlo will benefit greatly from consistent routines, positive reinforcement training, and gentle guidance as he acclimates to family life. His house-training status will need to be checked as well. This lovable boy has so much affection to offer, and with the right caregivers, he can look forward to healing and the joys of everyday life. Could your family be the one to help Arlo begin his next joyful chapter? Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and let's get started.
