Meet Mishka, the comeback pup with tons of love and an underbite to match! Little Mishka was previously adopted and returned when she developed an immune-related skin condition. She had a rough go of it as her situation was not immediately treated, losing a lot of fur on her head and body until she got into a new shelter with better vet care. Her past may have left scars on her face, but her joyful puppy nature and loving heart remain unbroken and pure! Mishka has so many positive traits - from being loving and loyal, to happily playing fetch with you in the back yard until your arm gets tired. She will even help you with your gardening by sticking her entire face into the watering pail, checking your sprinklers, shredding loose sticks into mulch, and frolicking in leaves. She is also a budding geologist who likes to collect rocks and roll them around the yard! She enjoys other canine friends and has done wonderfully with the two resident dogs, as well as other temporary puppy friends in the house. However, in her excitement to make new playmates, she can come on a little strong and not read social cues well, so proper introductions are best to make sure all parties are happy. Mishka is good on the leash and chooses to be a "stop and smell the roses" kind of gal. She was initially pretty fearful of cars and loud noises, but that has vastly improved since coming into foster care. However, her new family should be prepared to be patient and encouraging with her as she continues to gain confidence. Treats also help! Once back in the safety of her home, Mishka has proven to be a lovely house guest. She is potty/doggy door trained, she sleeps wonderfully all night in her kennel, and has been fairly non-destructive. She has had limited experience with children and cats, but has done very well in both cases. After a day of wrestling, chewing on bones, neighborhood walks, and playing fetch, she is ready to curl up on the couch for a good cuddle with her people. There, you will be blessed by her adorable underbite, soft, gentle snores, and awkwardly adorable crooked ears. Mishka's young life has already been filled with so many ups and downs, but she is ready and deserving to find a family who will love and cherish her forever.
