MEET SMOKEY Smokey is one of those special cats who makes you wonder how such a sweet soul ever ended up living on the streets. At about 3 years old, Smokey is a big, beautiful gray-and-white Domestic Shorthair — nearly 18 pounds of pure love! This gentle giant is incredibly soft, sweet and affectionate. He loves chest and tummy rubs, curling up beside you on the couch, watching TV and, of course, climbing into any paper bag or cardboard box he can find! Rescued from the streets of Long Beach while battling an upper respiratory illness, Smokey is now on the mend and absolutely loving indoor life. He’s playful, mellow, good around cats and dogs, and seems genuinely grateful for every meal, toy, cuddle and soft place to sleep. Smokey has already known what it’s like to be homeless. We want to make sure he never knows that feeling again. He deserves a stable, lifelong home and a person who will cherish him for the next 15+ years, or who has a clear lifelong care plan in place.
