Dog's Name: Jelly (JEL1026STFFSHW) Estimated Breed: Schnauzer / Border Terrier mix pproximate Age: 4-5 years Approximate Weight: 15-17 lbs Currently Living at: Boarding Adoption Fee: $500 DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Jelly! Life hasn't always been sweet for Jelly, but this adorable mixed-breed gal is hoping her next chapter will be filled with love, comfort, and a family to call her own. Jelly was found as a stray alongside Peanut Butter, who we believe is her father. Sadly, no one came forward to claim them, so now this sweet girl is looking for a fresh start and a forever home where she'll always be cherished. Jelly is people-friendly and gets along well with other dogs, although she's not one for roughhousing or rowdy play. She prefers a more relaxed approach to life and would be happiest in an easygoing home where she can settle in at her own pace. She also seems to be housebroken. She tested positive for heartworm, but K-9 Lifesavers is providing treatment, and she'll be feeling fine in no time. After finding herself without a home, she deserves the wonderful feeling of being safe, loved, and part of a family forever. Apply today and give Jelly the loving forever home she's been waiting for! To learn more about heartworm please visit: https://www.webmd.com/pets/dogs/features/heartworms-in-dogs-facts-and-myths Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
