Meet Kenny! Kenny is a 10-month-old, 50-pound mixed-breed pup who’s heartworm-negative and neutered. He’s a fun-loving, affectionate bundle of puppy energy and probably won’t get much bigger. Kenny loves exploring the world nose-first. His longer toes and webbed feet hint at possible water-dog ancestry, and his strong bark and hound-like sniffing keep him busy investigating everything around him. He’s treat-motivated, focused, eager to please, and has wonderful potential for continued training. This curious boy is an enthusiastic counter-surfer who enjoys carrying his discoveries outside to investigate. A simple box can keep him happily occupied while he drags it through the doggie door and figures it out. He responds well to “Off,” “Sit,” and “Outside,” and he’s learning “Drop” and “Leave It.” He also enjoys fetch—especially the time and play he gets to share with his person. Kenny is friendly with new people and dogs and enjoys meeting children at adoption events. He can be exuberant and has a rowdy play style that may overwhelm some dogs, so thoughtful introductions are important. Because he’s energetic and likes to put his paws on people, he may be too much for very young children. He’s easy to kennel, settles peacefully inside, and lets you know when he needs to go out. He’s used to going through a doggie door into a fenced yard to take care of business, explore, and play. On walks, Kenny spends much of his time sniffing but generally walks without pulling and responds to gentle leash corrections. He hasn’t yet met other people or dogs while out on a walk. Kenny loves hugs and being close to his people. He’s an affectionate, intelligent young dog ready to keep learning and become a wonderful part of a loving family. Could that be yours?
