Ghibli is a charming little fellow who has mastered the art of enjoying life without needing to be the center of attention. Independent, playful in moderation, and affectionate on his own terms, Ghibli is the kind of dog who appreciates companionship but doesn't require constant entertainment. In his foster home, Ghibli lives alongside several dogs his size or smaller and does quite well with them. He happily runs around the yard with his canine companions but doesn't necessarily seek them out for entertainment. Recently, he's even started making a few attempts to initiate play! He's still figuring out the finer points of canine socializing, but it's encouraging to see him exploring new ways to interact. Ghibli also lives with cats and finds them rather fascinating. Fortunately, he's generally respectful of their boundaries and responds well when corrected. His foster home's cats are experienced with dogs and have no problem communicating when they've had enough of his curiosity. When it comes to entertainment, Ghibli enjoys a good game of fetch, but don't expect an aspiring professional athlete. About 10 minutes is plenty before he's ready to pursue other interests. Indoors, he'll occasionally bring you a ball and request a little rolling fetch, but after a few minutes, he's satisfied for hours. He's also an enthusiastic chewer who enjoys cow hooves and bones. Stuffed toys, however, tend to meet a rather gruesome end. Ghibli apparently believes their stuffing belongs on the outside. When playtime is over, Ghibli is perfectly happy to enjoy belly rubs, couch cuddles, or simply relax nearby. He crates well, walks well on a leash, and is generally a quiet, easygoing companion. Ghibli would thrive with someone who appreciates a dog who doesn't need to be attached to their hip every waking moment. He enjoys affection, companionship, and playtime, but he's equally happy pursuing his own interests. Whether he's your only dog or joins a household with compatible companions, Ghibli has plenty of love to offer without demanding the spotlight. Could that be with you? Interested in adopting Ghibli?
