About Nina Jobst

Nina Jobst A188512 40 lb. spayed female, approx 3 years old -She was a little timid walking through the halls and would crouch down when new people approached, but then happily greet them. She's trying so hard to be brave! -She started off nervous in the yard, but when I called her over to the bench, she crawled over and submissively rolled at my feet to show me her belly. After a few pets, she realized I was OK and hopped right into my lap for snuggles. Then came the kisses! She definitely finds comfort in being close to her people. -She is VERY treat motivated and apparently very hungry! She's still working on "sit" and keeping all four paws on the floor, but she's improving and starting to get the hang of it. She can be a little clumsy taking treats from your hand, often fumbling them right out of her mouth before she can eat them. 😂 -Once she felt comfortable, her playful side came out, and she had fun flipping toys all around. She just needs a little time to warm up and feel safe, and then you get to see more of her sweet personality shine through. -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids *Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt *Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. *Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. *There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. *To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** *The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30, except for Wednesday when we open at 11:30 **We ask that if you're looking to adopt, you arrive before 5:00 to be able to have enough time to meet the dog. **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
