About Casey

Casey has had quite a journey as a stray city cat, using some of his nine lives to survive. He’s blind in his left eye and has limited sight in his right eye, making him sensitive to bright lights and direct sunshine. Fortunately, he found his way to an F2F volunteer who nurtured him, allowing him to trust enough to reach the shelter. Casey is a mellow boy who doesn't require much attention, but he enjoys gentle pets and will lay contentedly beside you once he feels safe. It’s essential to speak to him and let him see your hand before touching; if startled, he might grab your hand or retreat, but he’s not aggressive. While he prefers not to be picked up, he loves to be near you, following you around and chatting as you go about your day. He would thrive in a quiet home without other pets. Although he doesn’t often engage with other cats, he knows how to stand his ground peacefully. Sudden noises or chaos might unsettle him due to his sight limitations, so he could do well with older children who can understand his past. Casey is open to being petted now and is seeking a patient adopter who can help him feel loved and secure. As an FIV+ cat, he can still live a long, happy life. With some time and the right care, Casey may finally understand what it means to be home. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
