Bill Bill is an absolutely adorable ginger male kitten born July 2, 2026. With his beautiful orange coat, sweet little face, and precious oversized paws, this handsome boy has something extra special about him. And we mean that quite literally! Bill is a polydactyl kitten, which means he was born with extra toes! These unusual cats are affectionately known as Hemingway cats because the famous author Ernest Hemingway was especially fond of them. Their extra toes often make their little paws look like tiny mittens, giving them an irresistibly adorable appearance. Bill's story began when he and his siblings were taken to an animal control facility at only six weeks old. Their mommy was nowhere to be found, leaving these tiny babies to face an uncertain future without the comfort and protection of their mother. At an age when kittens should still be learning from their mommy, wrestling with their siblings, and discovering the world from the safety of their little family, Bill and his brothers and sisters suddenly found themselves alone. Thankfully, Edgar and Ivy was able to bring these precious kittens into our care. Here at the shelter, Bill and his siblings were given everything they needed to grow up healthy and happy. With nutritious food, medical care, warm beds, and plenty of attention from our staff, these little ones were able to leave their difficult beginning behind them. And as Bill grew, so did those extraordinary little feet! Polydactylism is simply a genetic trait that causes cats to have more toes than usual. Most polydactyl cats live completely normal, healthy lives, although their extra claws need regular attention during nail trimming. It certainly doesn't slow them down, and it makes them even more adorable! Bill is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for adoption. This handsome ginger boy has already been given a second chance at life, and now he is ready for the one thing our shelter cannot give him: a family of his very own. With his beautiful orange coat, sweet face, and a few extra toes to love, Bill is ready to bring an extraordinary amount of happiness into someone's home. After all, when it comes to love, who wouldn't want a little extra?
