Ares is a strikingly handsome black and white tuxedo kitten born July 3, 2026. With his sleek black coat, beautiful white chest, and bright, expressive eyes, this little boy is a member of our Mythology Litter, a group of kittens whose lives were nearly thrown away before they had even begun. Ares and his siblings were just two weeks old when a man arrived at the doors of Edgar and Ivy's Cat Sanctuary carrying the tiny, motherless babies. What he told us was heartbreaking. He said that if we did not take the kittens, he would throw them out into a field when he left. These were helpless newborn kittens who had barely begun to experience the world. They were far too young to eat on their own, unable to survive without constant care, and completely dependent on someone to keep them warm, fed, and protected. Being abandoned in a field at that age would almost certainly have meant their deaths. We were not given time to prepare or arrange for additional resources. We were simply presented with a choice between taking the kittens immediately or allowing them to be abandoned. For us, there was no choice at all. We took them. Ares and his siblings became part of the Edgar and Ivy family, and our team began the exhausting but rewarding process of bottle raising these precious babies. Every few hours, day and night, they needed carefully prepared bottles, warmth, cleaning, and constant monitoring. Raising orphaned kittens this young requires an extraordinary amount of dedication, especially when an entire litter depends on human caregivers for every single need. There were sleepless nights, countless feedings, and weeks of careful attention as we worked to give these kittens the chance they deserved. And slowly, they began to thrive. Ares grew stronger, learned to eat on his own, and eventually graduated into our nursery alongside his siblings. The tiny kitten who had once faced abandonment was now growing up surrounded by people who believed his life mattered. Today, Ares is a beautiful young tuxedo boy who is ready to find a family of his very own. He has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped and is ready for adoption. In Greek mythology, Ares was the god of war, but our little Ares has already fought the only battle that should ever be asked of him: the battle to survive his earliest weeks of life. Now we want his future to be peaceful. We are looking for a loving indoor home where Ares will never be treated as unwanted or disposable. He deserves warm beds, gentle hands, toys to play with, and a family who will protect and cherish him for the rest of his life. His story began with someone who was willing to abandon him in a field. We hope the rest of his story will be about someone who cannot imagine life without him. Ares is ready to leave his difficult beginning behind and discover what it means to be somebody's beloved baby.
