Poseidon is an adorable ginger male kitten with the sweetest little face, beautiful golden stripes, and four precious white socks. Born August 4, 2026, this handsome little boy has a special place in our hearts because he was born right here at Edgar and Ivy. Poseidon's story actually began before he was born. His mommy was heavily pregnant when she was taken into an animal control facility. Instead of having a safe, quiet place to prepare for the arrival of her babies, she found herself in a frightening and unfamiliar environment at one of the most vulnerable times in her life. Thankfully, Edgar and Ivy was able to bring her into our care before her kittens arrived. Here at our shelter, Poseidon's mommy finally had a safe place to give birth, plenty of nutritious food, a warm bed, and people looking after her and her babies. On August 4, she welcomed her kittens into the world, and Poseidon has never had to know what it feels like to be hungry, frightened, or alone. Unlike so many of the orphaned kittens who come through our doors, Poseidon was fortunate enough to grow up with his mommy. She was able to nurse him, groom him, teach him how to be a cat, and give him all the love and security that only a mother can provide. Our staff made sure this little family had everything they needed while Poseidon and his siblings grew big and strong. Now this precious ginger boy is ready to leave the only home he has ever known and begin a wonderful new adventure with a family of his very own. Poseidon is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for adoption. He came into this world surrounded by love, and we want to make sure that is exactly how he spends the rest of his life.
