Hercules is a handsome black and white male kitten born July 3, 2026. He is one of our precious Mythology Litter kittens, a group of babies whose story began with a heartbreaking ultimatum that left us with no choice but to save their lives. Hercules and his siblings were only two weeks old when a man arrived at the doors of Edgar and Ivy's Cat Sanctuary carrying the motherless kittens. What happened next is something we wish we never had to hear. The man told us that if we did not take the kittens, he would throw them into a field when he left. These were helpless, two-week-old babies. Their eyes had barely opened, they couldn't eat on their own, and without a mother to nurse and protect them, they were completely dependent on human care for survival. Abandoning them in a field would almost certainly have been a death sentence. We were given no opportunity to plan, no time to arrange for additional space, and no alternative that would protect these innocent lives. We simply could not allow those babies to be discarded as though their lives meant nothing. So we took them. Hercules and his siblings became part of the Edgar and Ivy family, and our team began the demanding process of bottle raising an entire litter of orphaned kittens. Every few hours, around the clock, these babies needed to be fed, cleaned, kept warm, and carefully monitored. Raising kittens this young is exhausting, delicate work, but it is also one of the most rewarding things we do. And these little lives were worth every sleepless night. As the weeks passed, Hercules and his siblings grew stronger. Their tiny bodies developed, they learned to eat on their own, and eventually they were big enough to graduate into our nursery. The kittens who had once been threatened with abandonment were now safe, healthy, and surrounded by people who valued their lives. Today, Hercules is a beautiful young boy who has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is finally ready to leave the shelter and begin his life with a family of his very own. We are looking for a loving indoor home where Hercules will never again be treated as disposable. He deserves gentle hands, a warm place to sleep, toys to play with, and people who will love him unconditionally for the rest of his life. In Greek mythology, Hercules was known for his extraordinary strength. Our little Hercules has already shown a different kind of strength simply by surviving a beginning that could have ended so tragically. His story began with someone who was willing to throw him away.
