### Vampire Vampire is a gorgeous long-haired ginger and white male kitten born April 16, 2026. With his beautiful fluffy coat, sweet little face, and loving personality, it's hard to imagine that this handsome boy once had such a difficult start in life. Vampire was taken into an animal control facility when he was still a young kitten, suffering from a severe feline herpesvirus infection. He was very sick and needed medical attention, so he came to Edgar and Ivy, where he received the treatment and care he needed to recover. Today, Vampire is doing wonderfully! His illness is in remission, and he has grown into an incredibly sweet, affectionate, fluffy little boy who is ready to find a family of his own. Vampire will remain a lifelong carrier of feline herpesvirus (FHV-1), but that doesn't mean he is constantly sick. Many cats with this virus live long, happy, normal lives. The virus is specific to cats and cannot infect people or other animal species such as dogs. It can, however, spread to other cats, including vaccinated cats, although vaccination generally reduces the severity of illness. Stress, environmental changes, and irritants such as strong fragrances may occasionally trigger flare-ups of respiratory or eye symptoms. We will include an informational flyer in Vampire's adoption envelope explaining feline herpesvirus, what to watch for, and how to help him stay healthy and comfortable. Vampire is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for adoption. He has already overcome a very difficult beginning, and now this sweet, fluffy boy deserves a family who will love him for the rest of his life. Vampire doesn't need a perfect home. He just needs someone who understands that a little extra care is a small price to pay for a whole lot of love.
