Looking for your next furry BFF? We don’t have perfect dogs — but we do have dogs who are perfect for the right someone. Our goal is to match each dog with the home that fits them best and each home with the dog that will sing to your heart. Ready to adopt? Complete an application at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org/application Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet, SC Weight: 10.2 lbs Height: 9 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $425 Fence needed? No - but if you do not have a fenced in yard, know that Alma has not been introduced to a leash yet. She has no idea what you want. She will learn and you can learn together. She would prefer a fenced in yard. Want To Know More About Me? Text Almaretta to 864-441-9075 for my full story - we'll share everything you need to know! Here's Your Quick Peek: Almaretta is a little Yorkie learning that life can be kind. Once a frightened, tick-covered puppy mill dog, Alma is beginning to show her goofy, affectionate side—and underneath that nervousness is a tremendous cuddle bug waiting for her own person. Please note - if you want to skip the text and go straight to the application, you can find the link here: www.carolinapoodlerescue.org/application/ Must have: A meet and greet where everyone living in the home - all people and all dogs - will come to our farm to meet her. This is non-negotiable. Please do not apply if you can't meet this criteria. Exercise: Gentle playtime, frequent potty trips, and supervised time in a securely fenced yard. Her leash skills are unknown, and she is not yet house trained. Best with: A quiet, patient home with another small, friendly dog and someone who will let her build trust at her own pace. Alma has dry eye - she will need daily drops for the rest of her life. On 1800petmeds, cyclosporin currently runs $55 per bottle if you put on autoship. She uses a bottle approximately every 6 weeks. This works out to about $1.31 per day. Not ideal for: A busy, noisy household or someone expecting an immediately confident companion. Her family must also be comfortable giving twice-daily eye drops for chronic dry eye for life. Energy level: Medium. She enjoys toys and activity but is not bouncing off the walls. There is a brightness about Alma now that wasn’t there when she arrived, a little more of her personality showing as she learns what it means to be clean, comfortable, and cherished. She is not quite a pet yet, but she is on the cusp—give her time, give her your love, and watch her shine. Good with dogs: Yes, both large and small dogs. She needs another small, friendly dog in her home. Good with kids: Unknown. Her nervous nature makes a quiet adult home her best fit. Cats: Unknown. Fun fact: Alma likes to tote her toys around rather than play rough with them—her own little treasures to carry! Potential Adopters Dogs can’t drive - and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Please check your potential BFF’s location and make sure you’re comfortable traveling to meet them.
