Hi, I'm Onyx, a smart, silly, loyal boy looking for a home where I can keep learning and growing! Onyx is a 1 yo, 55 lb cattle dog mix with a huge personality and even bigger potential. This handsome boy is incredibly smart, food motivated, and eager to learn. He is goofy and playful, loves his people deeply, and has a way of keeping you laughing with his silly antics. He has so much energy and curiosity, and he is happiest when he has something to do, whether that's learning something new, working for his meals, playing with his dog friends, or enjoying one of his enrichment toys. Onyx has been making wonderful progress in his foster home and is learning how to settle and relax. He is crate trained and potty trained. His foster mom has been helping him learn how to navigate the world, and he is proving to be a very capable student. He is smart, responsive to his people, and loves food, which makes training especially rewarding. He needs a patient adopter who is willing to continue working with him and give him time to build confidence. He does best with slow introductions and a structured routine. A calm household and a fenced yard would be ideal even though he is a 100% inside boy. He would love an active person who can give him plenty of appropriate outlets for his energy and brain. And one very important thing to know about Onyx: he HATES vegetables. He has many talents, but healthy eating is apparently not one of them.________________________________________________ If you would like to meet one of our adoptables or learn more about them, please submit an application at https://animalrescueneworleans.org/adoptfoster/. **Note: Our shelter is open by scheduled appointment only after your application is approved.
