Do you own a pair of oven mitts? If so, you may qualify to adopt our precious little Aspen! He's naughty and nice all in one little package! Aspen came to us from a rural shelter where he was terrifed and was not able to be adopted from because of his fear based behavior. After a few days in his foster home, he was happily hanging with a motley crew of hounds! Aspen even goes to the local dog park! It takes him a little while to warm up to new dogs but soon enjoys their company. The same cannot be said for the neighborhood cats! Now, back to the oven mitts....Aspen is very scared when he meets new people. If someone that he does not know and trust picks him up, he will bite. He is looking for someone who will commit to a hands off approach with him for the first few days after being adopted. Once you earn his trust, he will even let you rub his belly! Aspen's first love is walking the neighborhood and he would love a home that takes him out on leashed adventures! And he's hoping for a home with at least one other nice dog for him to play with and model appropriate behavior from. Aspen is completely housebroken and knows how to use the doggie door to go in and out of his home. He is completely non-destructive in his house. His foster mom makes it a point to take him into the community to meet he people....like her chiropracter who can even pet him now! To recap....Aspen needs an adult only home with at least one other dog and no cats. You must use a hands off approach with him until he trusts you or he will bite you but after a few days, he should be just fine! Aspen is guessed to be about 2 years old and weighs about 20 pounds. A meet and greet in his foster home is required. We see the beauty in this little guy and hope there is a special family out there for him who will see it too!
