What my friends at ACC say about me: I have lived with cats in my previous home. I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace. Timberlake is laying on top of his den, body and eyes neutral, head up and ears forward as the assessor approaches. When the kennel door is opened, he looks towards the assessor, leaning forward to sniff their hand before pulling back. A squeeze up is placed on a tray at the front of his kennel and he is spoken to softly, and after a few seconds he comes down and approaches the front of the kennel. Timberlake looks around before calmly stepping out of the kennel. He is able to be easily picked up, remaining calm when he is held. He is able to be held for an extended time and remains tolerant, looking around the room and appearing alert and curious. When he is placed back into the kennel, he remains at the front, going to eat his squeeze up. Timberlake continues to allow and lean into all petting throughout the rest of the interaction. Timberlake interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior.
