- Loves people and activity and likes to be at the center of whatever's going on - Treat-motivated and knows sit, lay down and shake - May prefer to explore and do his own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once he's in a home environment and has had time to decompress - Recently went on a Dog's Day Out field trip: "He is gentle and sweet. He liked to just lay by us in the backyard, but after some rest he showed interest in toys and playing ball (and tearing them up - ha). He did really good dropping his toys for a treat. He's very excited on a leash and does like to pull wherever his nose takes him but would settle in when we got moving and did great taking breaks. Loves to roll around on the grass and get belly rubs, and he's excellent in the car." - Did great with a school-age child during his Dog's Day Out - Can be socially awkward around other dogs, may take some time to warm up to new dogs and may prefer some dogs over others; has struggled with sharing his things with other dogs in a previous home and needs to be the only dog in his new home The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
