Mama Poppi is ready for her own happily ever after after dedicating months to raising her puppies. She initially wandered onto a farm in northeast Alabama as a stray. When the farm family realized she was pregnant, they took her in to save her from a local shelter where her fate looked grim. She gave birth to nine puppies, but heartbreakingly, only five survived. At around 3 to 4 years old, Poppi can be a bit nervous around new faces. However, she forms strong bonds when given patience and time. Her foster became her close friend in about a week, and she now greets her with excitement every time she walks through the door. Poppi is a loyal and affectionate companion, but her enthusiasm might need some channeling to avoid knocking you over. Curious about other dogs, Poppi has shown some defensiveness during introductions. An ideal scenario for her would be as the only adult dog in the home, though she adores puppies and may welcome a younger companion once she's settled.
