About Cleo

Meet Cleo! This beautiful 2-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix has a remarkable story. Abandoned and once a homeless mama to eight puppies, she faced the tough challenge of battling heartworms but emerged strong and joyful. Cleo is a playful young pup, bursting with energy and a sweet personality that brightens every room. She is house trained, making her an excellent companion. Cleo does best in a home with a secure, fenced yard since she can jump quite high; she’s cleared a 5-foot fence! With her love for people, she’ll thrive with a family that can provide the love and stability she deserves. Being left alone for long stretches can make her a bit anxious, so a supportive adoptive family who can help build her confidence is ideal. While she hasn’t been tested with cats, she does seem interested in them and might be best suited for a home with older children. Cleo also gets excited around bicycles and motorcycles, so she’ll need a confident handler on walks. She has met many dogs and generally gets along well, but due to an unfortunate prior adoption experience, a home without other dogs would be best for her. Playdates with other canines are still a possibility. Cleo is waiting for her true forever home. If you think you can provide the love she needs, apply today!
