Mercedes is a young female Domestic Short Hair mix, around 2 years and 3 months old. She is medium-sized with a lovely torbie coat and is house trained. Mercedes has been spayed and is up to date on vaccinations. Located in Mayfield, NY, she is looking for a loving home to continue her journey of trust and companionship.

About Mercedes

Mercedes was rescued about a year ago from a car repair shop, where she was found with her four kittens. Having never encountered humans before, she was understandably terrified. For the first seven months, she hid and avoided contact. However, things began to change when she allowed a gentle touch while enjoying treats. By the ninth month, she emerged from her hiding place and started to trust both her foster and her boyfriend. Now, Mercedes comfortably roams the house, shares meal times with other cats, and is all in for playtime, especially when it involves chasing laser lights or wand toys. She still tends to hide during busy moments or around unfamiliar people and prefers not to be held just yet. But with patience, she shows great potential to become a lap cat. She enjoys being rubbed and even approaches for affection when other cats aren't nearby. Mercedes gets along well with non-aggressive cats and would love a feline friend. If you're interested in her or her kittens, Beemer and Kia, who also need loving homes, reach out for an adoption application online.
