About Nyx
Nyx is a young girl who has navigated a tough start in life. Rescued from a neglected situation at just four months old, she needs a patient adopter who can offer her the calm environment she craves. With a history of rough handling, Nyx is skittish, particularly around men, but she’s shown great progress since finding a kinder home. Currently, Nyx thrives in a household with a toddler and an infant, where she feels comfortable. She’s friendly with other dogs and cats, and she tends to be submissive when meeting new dogs, but has a playful side that comes out with the right companions. Ideally, she would do best with another friendly dog to help her gain confidence. Though her mixed breed background gives her a bit of exuberance, Nyx is more mellow and enjoys watching her people. She likes to play with toys and her human friends, especially the little ones, and she will need a yard where she can safely zoom around once she trusts her new family. Training Nyx requires patience. She responds best to positive reinforcement, and while she knows some commands, building her trust will help strengthen her recall. House-trained and crate-trained, Nyx does well in the home but may need some time to adjust in new environments. Despite her nervousness, she’s a watchful companion who will alert you to visitors and is sure to warm the hearts of those who give her the love she needs. Your new best friend is waiting for you.
