About Rocky

Rocky may always look like a puppy, but there's so much more to this joyful little guy than meets the eye. Born with congenital hypothyroidism, Rocky's growth was stunted for the first year of his life. Now, thanks to thyroid medication, he’s making wonderful progress and thriving as the happy, playful, affectionate dog he is. After being neutered, Rocky is ready to find his forever family. Rocky does have some skeletal abnormalities due to missing out on critical growth periods. While he has the head and paws of an adult dog, he only weighs about 35 pounds, far less than the 60 pounds he might have been. Although he may not grow much larger, he is otherwise healthy, and his spine is slowly aligning. He adores other dogs and has the best time playing with them. However, he needs a home with smaller, calmer dogs to ensure he stays safe. Rocky has also successfully lived with cats, so they could be fine companions too. Rocky requires lifelong thyroid medication, making it crucial for his family to prioritize his health and safety. Yet, despite everything he has faced, he remains an incredibly happy and loving dog, eager for a safe and loving home. Rocky is located in Picayune, MS, and can be transported once he's adopted. Virtual meet-and-greets are available for approved adopters. Best of all, the adoption fee is currently waived for the perfect home! This little buddy is waiting for you to give him the safe haven he deserves. Click apply to start the adoption process.
