About Charlotte
Charlotte is an amazing dog with a challenging history. She is blind due to injuries she endured before her rescue. Found as a stray, Charlotte had multiple wounds and an old leg fracture that was improperly healed. After being evaluated by a veterinary specialist, it was determined that surgical correction wasn't necessary. Despite a slight limp and the mild outward turn of one rear foot, she walks and runs well. Once she becomes familiar with her surroundings, Charlotte navigates with surprising ease, though she occasionally bumps into things when excited. Affectionate and people-oriented, Charlotte excels with children and gets along well with other dogs. However, she can be reactive around food, so she should be fed separately from other pets. She shares toys nicely and is fully house trained, even using a doggy door. Cuddling and sleeping close to her people are some of her favorite activities. Charlotte is very adaptable and doesn't let her blindness limit her life. Located in Picayune, MS, transport options are available upon approved adoption at no cost. Although there are no adoption fees, potential adopters are encouraged to consider a donation to assist in saving more animals. Virtual meet-and-greets via Zoom or Facebook chat can be arranged for approved adopters. Our rescue maintains a stellar placement rate, ensuring that we create perfect matches for our animals. We're highly selective in our process, so a history of responsible pet ownership through veterinary references is required for adoption. Please note, first-time pet owners will not be considered.
