Crunch is a young, altered male Chihuahua mixed breed in Eureka, CA. He's medium-sized and has a pretty brown and chocolate coat. He's up-to-date on vaccinations and is still learning how to be comfortably house trained. Because of his gentle nature, Crunch will thrive best in an environment fostered by someone experienced with timid dogs.

About Crunch

Crunch is a sweet boy still finding his courage. He was quite scared upon arrival, but he showed some trust by allowing handling during his intake. Our dedicated volunteers have managed to leash him and gently carry him when needed. In his outdoor enclosure, he tends to hug the back and stay low, particularly when feeling uncertain. While he doesn’t actively seek human interaction, he does permit familiar volunteers to pick him up, signifying a budding trust. Walking on a leash is still daunting for him, and he may react fearfully if approached too quickly. An ideal adopter would be patient and experienced with fearful or unsocialized dogs, understanding that gaining Crunch's confidence might take time—perhaps weeks or even months. Caution is advised during introductions, especially with children, as his behavior around them is currently unknown. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
