If we believe it may be a good match, we will reach out to schedule a phone interview, followed by a video call with the foster home. A virtual home visit, along with personal and veterinary reference checks, are required to complete the adoption process. Once approved, the dog will be placed on the next available transport, which runs every few weeks and is included in the adoption donation. If you are not able to welcome a dog until a later date, please wait to apply until that time. We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to help these dogs find homes. This helps ensure we respect everyones time. ___ Salem is one of those puppies who is ready to make friends with just about everyone he meets. At just 14 weeks old, this sweet Pit Bull mix is outgoing, curious, and always eager to see whats happening. He loves being part of the action and approaches new people and experiences with the kind of happy confidence that makes him an easy little guy to fall in love with. While we don't know who his dad is, we've included a photo of his mom. Based on his size and breed mix, we expect Salem to grow into a large dog. Salem is being fostered in Austin, Texas, and is available for adoption out of state. Transport can be arranged by the rescue once matched with an approved adopter. The adoption process includes an application, phone interview, video call with the foster home, virtual home visit, and vet and personal reference checks. Salem has been raised in a home with children and other dogs, and he's taken it all in stride. He's been around plenty of children and does wonderfully with them, making him a great fit for a family home. He's also fantastic with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to grow up with. He hasn't been introduced to cats yet, so we can't say for certain how he'll do with them as he gets older. Like any 14-week-old puppy, Salem is just beginning to learn about the world. He isn't potty trained, crate trained, or leash trained yet, so he'll need a family that's ready to guide him with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Because he's still so young, he'll do best in a home where someone is around more often than not to help him establish routines, continue his socialization, and learn all the things that come with being a great family dog. Bringing home a puppy is a big commitment, and we want to make sure everyone in the household is ready for the time, patience, and responsibility that come with raising one. The early months are an investment, but they're also some of the most rewarding as you watch your puppy grow into a lifelong companion. Salem's outgoing personality makes him a fun little sidekick.
